Purpose:

The training award will be given to parks and recreation professionals who are interested in attending professional training opportunities like the NRPA Pacific Southwest Annual Training Conference, NRPA National Congress, or NRPA School or to apply and obtain other professional certification(s)

Award:

The training award recipient may receive up to $500 per application to offset expenses for attendance to a professional training conference and/or school and/or certification program not reimbursed by an employer, organization or other source. Training awards are dependent on availability of funds.

Criteria:

The training award nominee must:
• Be a current member, in good standing, of the Hawaii Recreation and Park Society.
• Be currently employed in the profession.
• Volunteer to assist at the Annual HRPS Training Conference

Submit application at least three (3) months prior to the date of the professional training, conference, school, and/or certification program you plan to attend and/or apply for.

An interview with the HRPS board will be conducted to review all training award applications.
(Applicant to attend a HRPS board meeting, or notified to schedule a phone or video interview (Face Time, Skype etc.) during
a HRPS board meeting to answer questions about their application.)
